How long have you been in business?

What got you into staging in the first place?
Desperation, LOL! I was a real estate agent and had $11M in sales in the works when The Great Recession hit. I lost everything and had to quickly reinvent myself. I had always staged my own listings and agent friends started asking me to help them get their homes sold. Fortunately, I had training in Interior Design and a houseful of great furniture to stage with–that was the beginning!
What was your previous career?
Radio, executive assistant, event planning, real estate sales, dance teacher and competitor
What do you know now that you wished you knew on your first day of business?
More about running a business and that stagers charge monthly fees! I was in business for ten years before I started charging monthly fees and those have been the impetus for our growth the past few years.
What has been your biggest business challenge and how did you overcome it?
Being numbers-challenged. We’re getting help in that department and taking time to learn more about it.
What objection have you heard from a client and how did you overcome it?
That our prices were too high. I just waited for them to come back after trying the budget stagers.
