SSWF – Su Casa Staging

Introducing Nicole Rorem with Su Casa Staging serving Albuquerque and Surrounding Areas. Staging Studio is particularly proud of this week’s Fav because Nicole is a recent graduate of our Master Class, making her a true Staging Design Professional™!

How long have you been in business?

I have been in business for 8 years.

Are you solo or have a team?

I work with a team of 8.

Describe any specific challenges you are facing.

Growing pains with staffing, especially in staffing a more leadership role type of person.

What got you into staging in the first place?

I wanted to own my own business and my house was for sale and all the brokers who came through said it was staged so nicely. I thought to myself, I could do that! My realtor had a home that she graciously let me stage and it sold in 4 days and that got me so excited. The rest is history! We now have 68 homes staged.

What was your previous career?

My professional background was in accounting and sales.

What do you know now that you wished you knew on your first day of business?

How to buy wholesale.

What has been your biggest business challenge and how did you overcome it?

Biggest challenges are with employees. Keeping the perspective that a “business is business” has helped a lot.

What objection have you heard from a client and how did you overcome it?

Most of the time, clients are very happy, but occasionally one will not like the staging because it isn’t their style. I am usually successful in describing that we are appealing to the largest number of buyers, not their personal tastes and that their house is no longer their home, but rather a product they are trying to sell.
